Arizona is the perfect state for people who love the outdoors. There is rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, nature walks, city mountains, snow boarding, skiing, peak bagging, canyoneering, kayaking, photography, trail running and even ice climbing! With all of these exciting activities we have a lot of people going outside and enjoying nature, a lot of people can have a lot of impact. Which is why we are pairing up with Just Roughin’ It, a gear store and cultural hub for all things adventure. They have made it apart of their mission to host classes, seminars and chats to get people better acquainted, better prepared and aware of their impact in our backcountry.
On Thursday, July 25th we will be gathering at their gear store for a deep dive into the world of Leave No Trace. Debbie, the owner of Just Roughin’ It will be walking us through the seven principles of Leave No Trace. After that we will have Tiffany from the Department of Forestry and Fire Management give us a presentation detailing the Woodbury Fire’s impact, walk us through why wildfires happen, why their frequency has increased, misconceptions about them and more. Following the entire event we will have a happy hour to mix and mingle and learn a little bit more!
