Taste a Bit of FLAVOR at Flagstaff’s First Annual Food and Wine Festival
A curation of Arizona’s best wineries and culinary scene in the region

Phoenix, AZ (Aug. 15, 2019) - Inspired by events like Devour in Phoenix and Savor in Tucson, Local First Arizona introduces a new event for wine enthusiasts, called FLAVOR Food and Wine Festival. Taste a bit of FLAVOR with Arizona’s best wineries, restaurateurs, and entertainment on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Warner’s Nursery, located at: 1101 E Butler Ave., Flagstaff, AZ 86001.

FLAVOR Food and Wine Festival is hosted by Local First First Arizona in partnership with Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden. The goal of FLAVOR is to bring awareness to Arizona’s vintners, independent restaurateurs, and unique artists through tastings, samples, live music and entertainment. 

“Arizona is ripe with award-winning wineries and FLAVOR is the perfect way to bring so many different vintners together,” says Victoria Leone, event director and Flagstaff Membership Manager for Local First Arizona, “We’re excited to showcase the best of Arizona’s wines and restaurateurs along with our event partner, Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden.”

“We were excited to partner with LFA because our roots are in Flagstaff and we love that LFA builds and supports our local community,” says Jodi Keogh, Community Outreach Director at Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden, “We hope attendees have a day filled with fun, beautiful weather, live music and enjoying many amazing Arizona-owned restaurants, wineries and product vendors.”

Attendees will stroll the beautiful grounds of Warner’s Nursery with a keepsake commemorative wine glass in hand to sip and sample from wineries and restaurants while perusing local retail vendors and enjoying local entertainment, such as: aerial artists, indie/rock duo, 76th Street, as well as renowned guitarist, Sky Black. Page Spring Cellars, will be pouring at FLAVOR and are keeping their official selections a secret for attendees.

“Page Springs Cellars has worked with many of the minds behind FLAVOR and didn’t hesitate one second regarding our involvement. We look forward to presenting the fruits of our labor, alongside amazing company in a beautiful setting,“ says Luke Bernard of Page Springs Cellars, “We produce so many unique labels that we will be offering a wide array of styles from signature reds and crisp whites to dry rosé and sweet apple wine, but our official lineup for FLAVOR is currently secret.”

There are two tiers available for purchase, General Admission and VIP. Along with commemorative glassware, attendees will utilize tasting tickets for sampling both beverage and food. Additional tasting tickets are available for purchase on-site for one dollar each. As a special offering, each attendee will receive a free coupon for a shuttle ride, courtesy of Mountain Line, to ensure they enjoy safely and responsibly.

The two tiers of admission are VIP and General Admission, and include the following:

  • General Admission entry tickets are $35 and include: Six (6) tasting tickets, one (1) commemorative tasting glass, and one (1) free reusable water bottle.

  • VIP Admission tickets are $50 and include: Ten (10) tasting tickets, one (1) commemorative tasting glass, and one (1)  reusable water bottle. 

    • VIP ticket holders have access to a special VIP section with live music and passed samples from local vendors to avoid standing in line.

  • Additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the ‘ticket booth’ for $1 per ticket and used for tastings/samplings or glasses of wine/small plates from any winery or restaurant.

About Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden:

Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden is a non-profit organization that provides in home care to adults and children with developmental disabilities and is certified through the Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities, providing clients and family with financial stability, security and trust. Proceeds of our in home care agency creates scholarships every spring for students in need of speech and occupational therapies designed to bridge the gap in services that students experience during the summer months. To date, Over the Rainbow Butterfly Garden has awarded $20,000 in scholarships.
