Hubbard Family Swim School Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
For Bob and Kathy Hubbard, the sport of swimming has been a lifelong passion and dedication. A dedication they were recently honored for by the United States Swim School Association (USSSA) at its 29th annual National Conference with the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Hubbards founded Hubbard Family Swim Schools in Phoenix in 1998 and have also been a proud Sustaining Member of Local First Arizona for many years now.
Bob grew up in New York and developed his passion for swimming while working as a beach lifeguard. Kathy developed her love for swimming in a competitive environment, qualifying for the 1968 Olympic Trials and swimming competitively through college.
Kathy served as chairman of the USSSA Infant Toddler Committee for 10 years working to develop a robust training program for infant swimming instructors. Bob has been involved with USSSA since 1998, as a board member including holding the office of president. The Hubbards have become world-renowned, expert speakers in the field of infant and toddler swimming.
The Hubbard Family Swim School sets a sterling example for local businesses in Arizona. They are a values-driven organization providing an important service to countless Arizona families, while also strengthening their communities and growing the state’s economy through their role as an LFA Sustaining Member. The Hubbards are committed to the continuous education of their students, parents, staff and the learn-to-swim community.
There are currently three Hubbard Family Swim Schools across the Valley - in Phoenix, Peoria, and Mesa - and all the swim schools offer lessons to babies and children, eight weeks up to 12 years of age. The temperature of the heated, indoor swimming pools is 90 degrees all year round. For more information visit: www.hubbardswim.com
