Exciting Networking Events During the 2015 Rural Policy Forum
The 2015 Rural Policy Forum will connect rural economic development professionals, nonprofits, community leaders, business owners, and other rural stakeholders who are interested in sustaining rural communities through capacity-building sessions, workshops, keynote presentations, roundtable discussions and breakout sessions. The Rural Development Council is also excited to provide great networking opportunities through a series of fun events and you are invited to join in. Join us a day early to explore the Verde Valley on the magnificent Verde Canyon Railroad. Meet fellow attendees and local leaders Wednesday August 5th on this 38 mile rail line through the Verde Valley’s dramatic and unspoiled wilderness. You will experience the beauty of the canyon, catch glimpses of eagles nested among the cliffs and take in the mighty river that carved the valley over centuries all from the comfort of a luxurious cabin inside of the train and viewing decks outside. Plan to arrive at the depot at 300 North Broadway, Clarkdale, AZ 86324 by noon for the 1:00 pm departure complete with a champagne toast. Typically a $65 trip, attendees of the Rural Policy Forum have the opportunity to join the fun for only $29! You won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity, register here.
After the conclusion of the train adventure at 5pm attendees are invited to join a Dinner on the Town at the Copper Art Museum. The museum was completed in a renovated school house, and exhibits works of art based on American and European history largely from the 16th-21st century. An exhibit based on the history of copper also exists which fits seamlessly with Clarkdale’s past. Pre-registration will be available at the dinner if you would like to check in early and avoid lines the next morning. Immerse yourself in the beautiful art while listening to live music, sampling wine and beer, snacking on delicious local appetizers and meeting new people. Reserve your spot at the party here.
What would a forum be without dinner and a show? We have the perfect place for both Thursday August 6th at 6PM at Cottonwood’s famous Blazin’ M Ranch. For over 20 years Blazin’ M Ranch has given visitors a taste of the real Old West through the replicated historic western town. Take a peak at the specialty shops, get a history lesson at the museum and check out the classic saloon. After exploring the way of western pioneers step into the dinning hall for the best chicken and ribs in Arizona and all the fixin’s (beware of flying biscuits). After dinner, sit back, relax and enjoy the smooth harmonies and rip-roarin’ comedy of the Blazin’ M Cowboys. Authentic, award-winning cowboy music, tall tales, tomfoolery and other side-splitting surprises will keep you wanting more! The cost for conference attendees is only $25, make your RSVP here.
