Southern Arizona December Mixer Recap: Hotel Congress
December’s mixer was hosted by our Sustaining Member, Hotel Congress. It was great to celebrate the end of an amazing year for all things local right in the heart of Downtown Tucson! We enjoyed great food and drink, the chance to connect, share news and business ideas! We are are excited for everything coming up in 2015. We have lots of events to kick off the new year. We are announcing the launch of Local Connections, a Local First Arizona sponsored event to help you grow your local business. We see our business members making great "local connections" all the time with ideas of how they can help one another succeed. LFA knows that local businesses joining together to do business with one another is the key to prosperity in our community. Our Local Connections event will be a daytime, moderated speed-networking event to help bring local businesses together. We will provide all attendees with handy tip sheets about how to explain to customers and clients what it means to support local business. We will also help you introduce yourself and your services to 20 other local businesses. Bring lots of business cards and the ability to talk fast about who you are and what you do. You can find more information about the event here, but don’t wait to register. Only 20 spots are available and this is restricted to active LFA business members. You can register here. The event is from 12pm – 1pm at the Upstairs Education Room of the Goodman’s Interior Structures Building at 3925 N. Business Center Drive.
Don’t miss out on the upcoming Arizona Food and Farm Finance Forum. The second annual Arizona Food and Finance Forum will be another opportunity for those involved in and contributing to Arizona’s local food system to gather, network, learn and develop new skill sets. This year’s forum will feature nationally-acclaimed speakers with experience in farming, food system development, local food marketing and building local, living economies. This forum will focus on bridging the gap between farmers, local food entrepreneurs and both private and public opportunities for investment and collaboration. It will focus on marketing and outreach, food aggregation and distribution, and access to capital and business development. These three main areas will bring together learning opportunities for those seeking funding for their farm operations, local food related nonprofit ventures, those seeking to boost their local brand, develop new markets and those interested in food hubs. You can find more info and register here.
