LFA member recognized for work in the community
Brother Mark, Director of GuidePost Ministries, received Tucson’s Salt and Light Award for his charitable work in the community last month. The award reads: “You are the Salt of the earth . . . the light of the world. That they may see your good works and glorify your father who is in heaven. “ – Matthew 5:13-16. “In appreciation for your efforts in Community Renewal.” GuidePost Ministries works with those facing healthcare crisis. “No two patients are the same. We review the specific needs of patients to develop specific plans that empower the patient to move beyond their challenges with knowledge and confidence,” says Brother Mark.
GuidePost Ministries helps patients navigate the complicated and costly healthcare system. Services include but are not limited to help filing for Social Security benefits, finding treatment for the uninsured, and transferring to an assisted care facility. Brother Mark never charges for his services, operating on donations alone. He will be applying for 501(c)3 non-profit status very soon.
Brother Mark, originally from the Boston area has lived in Pima County for over six years with the last two years in Green Valley. Clients of any age, ethnicity and religious affiliation welcome.
