In the Nic of Time: Steak, Seafood and New England Clam Chowder in Old Town Cottonwood
Today’s Local First Arizona member spotlight is on Nic's Italian Steak and Crab Restaurant:
The story of Jerome's Haunted Hamburger restaurant group and boutique hotel will make you want to see the success stories yourself! What started off as an escape-from-Phoenix drive to Jerome for a young family turned into a handful of fixer-upper projects followed by number of successful restaurant concepts and a boutique hotel. As the Jurisin family grew, so did their entrepreneurial vision. They moved off the Jerome mountain after opening Haunted Hamburger and Jerome Brewery (which later became Grapes) and landed in Old Town Cottonwood where they opened Nic's Italian Steak and Crab Restaurant. This local and tourist favorite serves up a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, a nice wine collection, and flavorful eats such as steak, chicken, pasta, fresh seafood and steamed crabs. Their New England style clam chowder is a local favorite. Nic's has become the neighborhood secret, a place where one can go when you're tired of making the same old dishes at home and are longing to see a familiar or smiling face. For out of town guests, Nic's embodies the Jurisin's vision of combining a warm, friendly atmosphere with good food, tasty libations, and terrific service.
