Flagstaff Eats Local For a Good Cause

Flagstaff’s Eat Local Tuesdays event is an excellent example of a collaboration that benefits the local food community. This is the second year that Flagstaff Foodlink has hosted the event, partnering with restaurants to source food from nearby farms to create a dish highlighting local flavors. Each participating restaurant is assigned a Tuesday and 10% of food and drink proceeds from the night go to fund Flagstaff Foodlink’s Grower Grant Program. Flagstaff area growers apply for grant funds to expand their growing operations. Last year Foodlink awarded $4,200 to four farms.

This year in addition to partnering with the chefs and farmers who make the event possible, Flagstaff Foodlink also partnered with Good Food Finder. Good Food Finder is an all Arizona database that makes it easy for folks to find all manner of local foods, from the restaurants who source locally to the farms and gardens that grow it. Here in Arizona we are lucky to have this great tool to make it easy to find and support those that are growing and cooking tasty AZ food!
