Book Fair Showcases Over Thirty Local Writers and Published Authors
The 2018 Cottonwood Book Fair is one of the Verde Valley’s most intriguing events. Bringing together over thirty Verde Valley authors, the event showcases local writers and published authors who are on site to discuss, sign and sell their books. In conjunction with the Walkin’ on Main event in Old Town Cottonwood, the Cottonwood Book Fair will take place on Saturday, November 10th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the newly remodeled Cottonwood Community Club House.
Workshops and Author Readings
During the week leading up to the Book Fair, there will be several workshops and author readings at the Cottonwood Public Library.
Wednesday, November 7th, 12:30 p.m.: International graphic design artist Anugito ten Voorde hosts the workshop “How to Design an Attractive Book Cover: Do’s & Don’ts.”
Wednesday, November 7th, 4:30 p.m.: Author Val Chanda hosts the workshop “Options in Publishing.” Aspiring writers can learn about all of the different options available to them when they are thinking about publishing a book.
Thursday, November 8 at 2 p.m.: Bill Mann will facilitate “How to Haiku: the American Way.” Remember those little three line nature poems from grade school? If you can count, you can haiku! It’s a fun, easy way to compose your poetic thoughts (about anything) in minutes. For kids 9 to 90.
Many of the participating authors will be giving short readings and discussions of their work at the library during the week leading up to the Book Fair as well. Stay tuned as additional reading and discussions by area authors are confirmed. You can check the Cottonwood Public Library website for updates on the Book Fair schedule.
