Successful Business Accelerator Program Graduates 45 New Hispanic Entrepreneurs

Fuerza Local fosters new entrepreneurship through award-winning program

Phoenix, AZ (January 23, 2019) – After a rigorous six months, 45 Hispanic entrepreneurs will be graduating from the Fuerza Local Business Accelerator program at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 held at the Legends Event Center, (4240 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85019).

The Fuerza Local Business Accelerator Program is a six-month training program offered at no cost to underserved Hispanic business owners in the Valley. During the program, entrepreneurs learn some of the fundamentals to launch or develop their business, creating a firm foundation for their goals. Lessons on accounting, social media, marketing, and many others are taught entirely in Spanish by industry professionals and experts, giving participants the opportunity to learn from some of the best and most experienced in the Valley.

“We receive same quality of education at no cost versus paying a university degree. You obtain both practical knowledge from content experts who are also business owners and continued mentorship outside of classes.” Marcos Santana, Marcos Printing & Signs LLC

“It’s an honor to witness the transformation of the Latino business owners who go through our program,” said Tanairí Ochoa-Martínez, Director of Fuerza Local.  “Their commitment to positively impact the economy in Arizona is not only demonstrated by the jobs they’ve created but also in their collaboration with locally owned businesses.”

Three hundred and four business owners have completed the program since its launch in 2014, and have made $14.1 million in gross sales, created 536 jobs, and generated additional tax revenue for the state.

“The graduation is a one-of-a-kind event where you get to see these businesses shine,” said Kimber Lanning, Founder and Executive Director of Local First Arizona Foundation. “Friends and families come out to celebrate and the room is filled with excitement and energy for a bright, new future. The graduation is a touching display of excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to participate fully in the Arizona market place.”

The community is invited to celebrate the achievements of these entrepreneurs at a graduation celebration from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 30 at Legends Event Center (4240 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85019). The event is free to attend and will include a business expo featuring the program graduates, networking opportunities, and the graduation ceremony.
