What we love the most at Local First Arizona are our members who support fellow members. When these partnerships occur, it absolutely brings a deeper sense of community within our state. Knowing that local businesses are making these connections daily simply reflects Arizona’s continuous growth and pride within our successful work. With the help of everyone, we are helping these businesses thrive exponentially!

1. BIRD’S NEST BAKING COMPANY & SPHINX DATE CO.
The Bird’s Nest Baking Company uses ingredients that are sourced locally and organically to create the best granola in Tucson! It’s handmade, fresh, and delightful in every single bite. It’s incredibly nutritious given the fact that their products are vegan, gmo, and wheat free! You can easily purchase the granola on their website, visiting them at the Heirloom Farmers Market on Sundays, or at one of their retail locations, including Sphinx Date Co. Palm & Pantry.
Sphinx Date Co. Palm & Pantry is located in Scottsdale and has offered locally sourced dates and edible gifts for more than 60 years. Can you believe that!? Most importantly, this business is deeply rooted in their rich culture and is constantly displaying a collection of honored farm and artisan sourced products amongst their store. Visit them Monday to Friday: 9am - 6pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm, and Sunday: 12pm - 5pm.
2. FAIRYTALE BROWNIES & DUCK AND DECANTER
This magical place called Fairytale Brownies has been creating gourmet cookies, bars, and brownies for the last 25 years. They emphasize on carefully sourcing the finest ingredients from flours to their imported Callebaut Belgian chocolate. Another beautiful aspect about this heartwarming business is that they’ve partnered with an organization for more than 15 years called KaBOOM! and they plan on building a playground for the Arizona Autism Charter School in Phoenix this spring. These baked goodies are truly made with love and compassion. You can purchase these delicious treats on their website or at one of their retail locations, including Duck and Decanter.
Duck and Decanter has been opened in Phoenix for 40 years now. D&D continues to serve their award-winning sandwiches, soups, and salads with fresh high quality recipes. In addition, they even dedicate their space for coffee, wine, gift baskets, specialty food, and houseware items as well. You can visit them Saturday to Sunday: 8am - 7pm, Monday to Wednesday: 7am - 7pm, and Thursday to Friday: 7am - 9pm.
3. TEPA BURGER & DIABLO BURGER
Tepa Burgers are locally sourced, handcrafted, premium plant based protein burgers that will change the way you eat another patty. They are made from the highest value ingredients including Arizona Tepary beans, High Mountain Sweet Kale, fire roasted sugar chilies, whole oats, and even more wholesome goodness. Their products are jampacked with high sources of Protein, Vitamin A, Iron, Fiber, and Vitamin C, too. You honestly can’t go wrong when you’re looking for a hearty, healthy, meatless meal. Diablo Burger was actually nominated one of the best burger places in the country by USA Today in 2013. Another aspect that makes DB awesome, is that they actively partner with Arizona farmers, ranchers, and other producers to source locally. Make sure to stop by one of their locations in Flagstaff, Tucson, and coming soon in Phoenix to experience everything they have to offer. Hours of operation are Sunday to Wednesday 11am - 9pm and Thursday to Saturday 11am - 10pm.
4. UNTAMED CONFECTIONS & GREEN VALLEY PECAN COMPANY
Sweet all-natural honey caramels and chocolate goodness anyone? Untamed Confections is a family operated business that specializes in natural treats using the finest, organic, locally harvested ingredients, that are naturally sweetened by pure honey. They emphasize on producing the best quality and most unique treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. You can buy their handcrafted chocolates, caramels, and more on their website, at The Carefree Fine Arts & Wine Festival and Tucson Gem and Mineral Show at Rapa River this January. You can also find them at any of these locations, including Green Valley Pecan Company.
Green Valley Pecan Company is located in the Santa Cruz River Valley near Tucson. They are actually the largest irrigated/integrated pecan orchard in the world. Their pecans come in different flavors such as spiced, candied, natural, and more. In addition, they have an assortment of gift baskets which include pecan brittle, butter toffee pecans, pecan trays, and tins featuring a variety. Their website also features recipes for dressings, cookies, pies, and more! Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday 9am - 5pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm.
5. PEANUT BUTTER AMERICANO & QUEEN CREEK OLIVE MILL
This is perfect for any PB&J loving individuals out there. Peanut Butter Americano provides flavors including choco blanco, dark chocolate, classic, cinnamon honey, and even almond butter as well. An inspiring fact is that owner Jeff Malkoon has donated more than $10,000 in charitable contributions for emergency housing to over twenty families with their Fund for Americas Initiative. Peanut Butter Americano is truly creating delicious, nutritious, and a socially beneficial product that is bettering the world! PBA can be found at the Arizona Vegetarian Food Festival this January and certain locations, including Queen Creek Olive Mill.
Queen Creek Olive Mill is a sustainable olive farm and mill that produces Arizona’s only extra virgin oil. This family owned and operated business has a 100-acre farm with over 7,000 olive trees that is worth touring, shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat at. Visit them at their locations in Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tucson as well. Hours of operations may vary by location.
