Flagstaff Health Fair Connects Business and Community
Spring is just around the corner, and it’s time for Flagstaff to get healthy! Flagstaff’s 8th Annual Small Business & Community Health Fair will be held at the Aquaplex on Friday, April 8th from 7 a.m. to noon. The Small Business and Community Health Fair is hosted by North County HealthCare, which serves as the medical home for nearly 50,000 people throughout northern Arizona. The health fair is open to the public, and features free health screenings, fitness advice, health insurance and wellness information, healthy snacks from local businesses and much more. Each participant will walk away with a goodie bag filled with valuable giveaways.
For the last eight years, this annual health fair has supported small business owners and employees by providing low cost healthcare options, including information about the Health Insurance Marketplace and SHOP. Participants can sign up early to receive a free baseline blood test that looks at 31 health risk indicators, a $35 value. The event is sponsored by North Country HealthCare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Grenax Broadcasting, PS Printing, and the City of Flagstaff.
Local businesses, like North Country HealthCare, care about and give back to the community they operate in. On a dollar-for-dollar basis, the local economic impact of independently owned businesses is significantly greater than that of national chains*. Local business also dedicate more time and money to charitable causes than big chain stores*. The Small Business and Community Health Fair is an exciting example of Flagstaff business owners that are committed to their city coming together for the well-being of their employees and customers.
