Phoenix Festival of the Arts is an annual celebration of arts and culture in the Valley of the Sun. The festival serves to stimulate both economic and cultural growth, and encourages the entire community to explore artistic, cultural, and educational activities surrounding a central theme. Locals and visitors alike are invited to join in for a weekend-long event full of arts and humanities, entertainment, vendors and local cuisine hosted by Phoenix Center for the Arts, which provides opportunities for children and young adults to participate and engage with visual + performing arts throughout the year .
Vendors this year include 75 talented artists selling handmade and unique gifts such as fine paintings and sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, culinary creations, photography, crafts, + more. Local cultural organizations will also be present including galleries, museums, publishing houses, radio and print news stations, + more.
After exploring the local artisans you may feel the creative juices flowing through yourself. Those wishing to express their inner visionary can get their feet wet with a hands-on community art project organized by acclaimed local muralist, Hugo Medina. The Phoenix Mural Project has become a signature component of the Festival and allows community members to paint and create alongside professional local artists. (Don't be shy!)
Live music and performances (including a Short Film Frenzy + Dance Fest + Storytelling) are scheduled throughout the day, for all three days, as well so there will be ample opportunity to soak up the artistic culture of the city in-between checking names off your Holiday list. See the full music + performance lineup here.
Local First Arizona is proud to be a sponsor for this years Phoenix Festival of the Arts because spending your dollars locally supports local artists and art culture while keeping 2x more money in the Arizona economy compared to spending at an international brand. This festival also promotes a sense of community in Phoenix through artistic engagement and we cannot wait to see you there!
