Adaptive Reuse: Solera Health to Headquarter in Historic Carline Center

12196161_983581715021455_8395187274750685232_n Ashley Harder, President of Harder Development is pleased to announce her most recent downtown adaptive reuse project – Carline Center, which is located on the NE corner of Roosevelt Street and 11th Avenue, has been leased by Brenda Schmidt, CEO and Founder of Solera Health.

Harder Development's mission is contributing to the development of downtown Phoenix by bringing outdated commercial sites to a successful modern standard. This local business development and restoration company strives to create spaces that speak to today's small business needs by applying sound design principles with more innovative concepts. The company goal is to create spaces that foster a sense of pride in the adjacent communities and spark a lasting dialogue between the two.

The Carline Center property, which is part of the FQ Story neighborhood between Roosevelt and Grand Avenue, was originally two houses built circa late 1920’s. In the 1960s, the buildings were merged with an addition that brought the total area to 5,000 square feet. The space had been vacant for 5+ years prior to Harder purchasing the property.  An entire facelift of the building’s exterior, as well as full interior remodeling was completed by Harder’s team. The building name pays homage to the streetcar line which once ran through the neighborhood.

Ashley Harder says, “We are very excited Brenda and Solera Health recognized the unique qualities of both Carline Center and the FQ Story neighborhood.” she adds, “Our goal at Harder Development is to continue to work on interesting infill and adaptive reuse projects in our downtown core to provide creative spaces to exceptional companies looking for out-of-the-ordinary properties.”

Previous Harder Development projects include 335 Commons located at 335 W. McDowell and continued preservation of the historic Campbell House located at 826 N. 3rd Avenue.
