House of Tricks Keeps Local Members Full and Happy
This blog post was written by Volunteer Intern, Love Mariposa Our June Lunch Mixer was held at award-winning Tempe restaurant House of Tricks. Local First members enjoyed lunch and each other’s company in an intimate setting within the “a la carte” building where the walls are adorned with fine-art prints.
House of Tricks unique name originated from the owners name Robert and Robin Trick. Prior to opening their restaurant in 1987 the Tricks worked together at another Tempe restaurant Robin managed, and Robert was the chef. Originally the main restaurant building was a 1920s cottage formerly a blue-print shop. The Tricks took on the venture of remodeling the cottage in which they did most of the work. In the early nineties the owners acquired the adobe brick house next door built in 1903 to create a space for two more dining rooms. The large patio area is surrounded by an abundance of greenery that creates a shaded, cool, and tranquil setting.
House of Tricks menu consists of contemporary American cuisine that changes with the season and “reflect an eclectic blend of cultures and flavors”. The lunch menu offers incredible cuisine and affordable options to choose from; entrees, sandwiches, and salads.
It was a packed lunch mixer with nearly thirty business owners trekking out to Tempe to dine at the beautiful restaurant. Moving around the room we had both new and seasoned members connecting together, including a few sustaining members, including Pinnacle Bank and CopperPoint Mutual. Our Metro Phoenix Lunch Mixers offer local businesses the unique opportunity to develop and strengthen relationships with other entrepreneurs all while celebrating and supporting a local restaurant. It's an added benefit to being part of Local First Arizona and we time and time again we find businesses creating new partnerships just by attending a lunch mixer!
We want to thank our amazing hosts, House of Tricks for allowing us to lunch locally with them. Join us for an additional July lunch mixer at The Gladly, sponsored entirely by Pinnacle Bank! Click here for details.
Thank you to all those in attendance:
