First Viva La Local festival a success with Tucson crowds
We were excited to be part of Tucson's first ever Viva La Local Food Festival earlier this month! More and more people are asking the important question "Where does my food come from?" and arriving at the conclusion that we should be sourcing as much of our food as possible from our local farmers, ranchers, and food producers. The festival was a great event for showcasing many of Southern Arizona's local restaurants, brewers and vineyards who all utilize local food sources. Local First Arizona was thrilled to be included in the event along with so many of our members. "Its all about celebrating local food, local producers," comments Edible Baja editor, Doug Biggers. "I do feel like anytime you have great vendors, a lot of good food, great beer, great music, great wine, all of it local - that there's some attraction there," adds Heirlooms Farms' Manish Shah, organizer of the festival.
Arizona Public Media filmed a great recap of the Tucson's first Viva La Local festival. Click here to view the original story "Local Food Festival first of its kind in Tucson."
