March Mixer at El Gato Azul in Prescott - Recap

March Mixer Recap - Northern Arizona Mixer at El Gato Azul in Prescott, March 25, 2014 El Gato Bike KittyLocal First Arizona held its first mixer ever in Prescott on March 25th. Hosted by El Gato Azul, located just off courthouse square in downtown Prescott, the restaurant is a Prescott staple and offers delicious Spanish/Southwest cuisine, with a menu featuring traditional and new takes on tapas. The restaurant provided a wonderful atmosphere and local businesses packed the outdoor patio that is available year round. There were over 70 attendees present!

ElGatoMixer1During the event, Local First Arizona shared information about its programs and events, including the new Localist program and the upcoming Rural Policy Forum, to be held in Globe/Miami August 8th and 9th. El Gato Azul and the other participating local business, including Barnstar Brewery, Dancing Skeleton, Piper Premium Beverages, featured their fare and told the group about their businesses and new happenings. Local songwriter and Local First Arizona member, Chris Jamison, also performed live, original music.

wrenmyersatmixerThis was second mixer in the Quad Cities area and several new businesses and community members attended from Prescott, Dewey, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, and beyond.  Several of these businesses are new to the community and new to Local First Arizona and we are excited to see that the movement for supporting and strengthening local economies throughout the state is growing, especially in northern Arizona.
