Support Local Nonprofits During Arizona Gives Day

az gives dayNonprofit organizations abound in Arizona, supporting many different causes and educating us about ways we can improve our community. On April 9th, Arizona is celebrating Arizona Gives Day, a 24 hour campaign where individuals are encouraged to find a cause (or causes) they care about and donate to them. Local nonprofits make Arizona a better place – show your support with a donation, large or small.


1) Schedule your donation! You can find a list of all the participating nonprofits on the AZ Gives website. We've put together a list of Local First Arizona members who are accepting donations on Arizona Gives Day – simply click the links below to go directly to their page to donate. Minimum donation is $10. The Local First Arizona Foundation is also accepting donations on Arizona Gives Day.

2) Share the event on social media! Use these sample messages or create your own.

  • A little goes a long way! Help (name of nonprofit) on April 9 for Arizona Gives Day! Go to to help make a difference in our state. #Azgives
  • Hey Arizona! On April 9, help support (name of organization) or your favorite nonprofit in honor of Arizona Gives Day! #Azgives

3) Attend the Community Fair at Heritage Square Park Pavilion in Phoenix! This is a fun way to see the great work that nonprofits are doing. The Fair will be held on April 9th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

4) Send an email to your employees, friends and family to encourage them to donate to your favorite cause, or one that they believe in.

5) Share a story or memory associated with a local nonprofit and tag Local First Arizona’s Twitter (@LocalFirstAZ) or Facebook page. Use hashtag #AZGives.
