Local First Arizona Director Kimber Lanning wins ATHENA Award for Public Sector

2013_Recipients_9x6 Last month, Local First Arizona Director Kimber Lanning was named the winner for the ATHENA Award for the public sector. Every year, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce honor a select group of women with the ATHENA Award. The ATHENA Award honors women who have consistently invested in themselves, their profession, their community, and especially other women. They have achieved the pinnacle of success within their industry, have mentored women throughout their career, and have dedicated themselves to the community through various activities and charities.

Kimber was selected to be this year's ATHENA recipient out of numerous nominations and applicants for her many years of activism and service across the state in support of local businesses and improving the economy.

"All of today's finalists embody the spirit of ATHENA," says Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. "They represent career achievement of the highest honor and they have a genuine desire to lead and to cultivate success in the next generation. These outstanding women make our community a better place in which to live, work and play. It is an honor for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce to continue the great tradition of ATHENA and highlight these women's achievements."

Local First Arizona is extremely lucky to have such a dynamic leader at the head of this organization, and we couldn't be prouder of Kimber! You can watch Kimber's moving acceptance speech by clicking here.
