Bountiful Harvests at Northern AZ Farmers Markets

Sedona Farmers Market LogoIf you didn’t have an opportunity to check out your local farmer’s market during National Farmer’s Market Week last week, there is still plenty of time to take advantage of the local growing season’s goodness. At most markets around the state, you can find fresh, locally-grown fruits and veggies and lots of homemade value added products. At the same time, simply by shopping at your local market, you’ll be supporting small and medium-sized independent growers and producers, and you’ll know you’re buying a local alternative to corporate and globalized food production. What’s not to like? Northern Arizona has many incredible markets to check out over the next few months: Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Sedona and Flagstaff all have wonderful markets throughout the week!

CW Farmer's MarketMeg Williams, Local First’s Northern Arizona Director, will be tabling at several regional markets through the fall. You will see her at the Cottonwood Farmer’s Market and Jamboree (see poster to right) and at the Sedona Farmer’s Market this month. She’ll be at the Cottonwood market this Thursday, August 15 at 5pm (held in Old Town Activity Park off of North Main St.) and on Friday, August 23 at 9am in Sedona (held in Tlaquepaque, 336 State Route 179).  For information about the Cottonwood market, call 928-639-3200 and for information about Sedona’s market, call 928.821.1133.

We also hope to be in Camp Verde, at one of the Prescott area markets and in Flagstaff in September and October. We look forward to meeting local producers, growers and local customers at your area’s market soon!
