About our Host:

Food Conspiracy is Tucson's community-owned retail grocer serving owner members of the Co-op and the public since 1971 on 4th Avenue in downtown Tucson.  Featuring an all certified organic and local produce department, grocery, bulk foods, teas and herbs, beer and wine, and wellness. Conspiracy Kitchen transforms quality co-op ingredients onsite into prepared foods to eat in the caféor take away.  The Conspiracy Kitchen prepares daily hot food bar entrees and soups, fresh salad bar, sandwiches, and baked goods.  Home of Conspiracy Garden, small micro farm on site grows vegetables, plant starts, herbs and flowers and Conspiracy Classes that seek to engage community members on a variety of topics along with their journey of wellbeing.

In addition to offering great food, groceries, wellness and produce Food Conspiracy is involved in some exciting community engagement programs: Round Up is a fundraising at the registers for local Non-profits. Shop & Share is a food assistance program. Conspiracy CSA is a farmer loan program for Food Conspiracy’s vendors the Co-Op also has fundraisers and community donations.

Additionally, the Co-op hosts a variety of interns from Tucson H.S.’s Exceptional Ed Program Community-Based Instruction Program, WorkAbility employment program teaching and preparing people with disabilities for integrated and sustainable work opportunities, as well as students from Pima Community College and the University of Arizona.

What to Expect:

Our networking mixers are an excellent way to meet fellow members and connect with LFA staff.  Meetings are held once a month from 6 – 8 p.m.  The first hour is dedicated to networking, and at 7 p.m., We begin with a brief presentation about Local First, share events, updates and news you can use within the organization and the local movement. We also hold a drawing for door prizes, which can be donated by members, (minimum value $25, please). 

Mixers are open to Local First members only; guests may attend with an existing member or at the invitation of LFA staff.  As a courtesy to our host, you must RSVP.  For more information email our membership coordinator, Lore Contreras at [email protected]
