How to Position Your Business for a Successful Loan Application

Join Local First Arizona and Vantage West Credit Union as we offer members a chance to learn more about banking and how to do it in a way that benefits your business.

Vantage West will share their many years of collective experience working with local businesses on the important steps necessary for a successful loan request, as well as many common mistakes made in the loan application process. They will go into detail on important credit criteria and financial information required by lenders, along with what to expect from your Banker. Additionally, they will discuss the importance of a working business plan, and illustrate why it matters with examples of companies who failed or thrived in a shifting industry change.

Key Speakers:

Don C. Wren started his banking career in 1998 as a Personal Banker with a large national bank and quickly moved up to Branch Manager in 1999.  His family re-located to Bellevue, WA where he managed two branches in the Bellevue area.  As a leader in sales, he was promoted to the commercial lending world and began his dream of becoming a Business Relationship Manager.  After 5-years in Washington, with the ultimate wish of moving back to Tucson, AZ, he accepted a job with a local community bank in Yuma, AZ.  There he graduated from the Western Independent Banker School (WIB) and started the SBA division for the local bank.  After two years in Yuma, in 2006, he accepted a job with another local community bank here in Tucson.  In the 6-years with the bank, he received two awards from the Business Development Financial Corporation (BDFC) “Community Banker of the Year” for 2007 & 2009.  He joined Vantage West Credit Union in 2012 and has successfully generated over $60+ Million in new loans over a 6-year period.  He truly enjoys working with VWCU as it’s a family atmosphere with the primary goal of helping its members.   Unlike the sales driven national banks, VWCU provides him the opportunity to do what he truly loves and that is to help businesses and investors obtain their goals.  After 20-years in banking, he finally found his home
