Happy Birthday, Arizona! In the middle of February, we get to celebrate Arizona turning 107 years old and one company is celebrating this in a truly unique way. They are celebrating by cleaning up Arizona.
Keep Nature Wild is the epitome of an Arizona company, with vivid Arizona designs, quirky sweaters with “Desert Dweller” declarations and a plethora of outdoorsy stickers that are mandatory for hikers. Keep Nature Wild not only sells great merchandise, they take it a step further. For every product purchased Keep Nature Wild pledges to pick up one pound of trash and we want to keep them busy! Each year they hosts 12 clean up events in wild areas to preserve and restore our surrounding environment. They have set the ambitious goal to pick up one million pounds of trash by the year 2023 and we have no doubt that they will succeed.
For the month of February, we are encouraging you to “cash mob” Keep Nature Wild by purchasing their goods and/or participating in their cleanup. On February 16th Keep Nature Wild is hosting an Arizona Birthday Clean-Up at South Mountain. Whether you are looking for a unique post-Valentine’s Day date, something to do with friends, a way to meet like minded people or simply want to make a difference, this fun cleanup will meet all those needs and give you a firm sense of making change in the community. There will be food, coffee, swag, and fellow Arizonans doing their part. Make sure to snag one of their sweaters though, it is pretty chilly out there!
