Green Cash Mob: Tank's Green Stuff

  • Dig It Gardens 3015 North 16th Street Phoenix, AZ (map)

Local First Arizona and Recyclebank are kicking off our new Green Cash Mob program, where we ask Arizonans to support businesses that are reducing, reusing and recycling, therefore keeping materials out of the landfill.  The best way our community can thank these businesses is to purchase their goods and services, so each month we'll highlight a business and encourage you to "cash mob" them (aka buy stuff from them).

Who:  Dig It Gardens & Tank’s Green Stuff
When: May 1 - May 31, 2018
Why: Dig It Gardens just started carrying Tank’s Green Stuff, a locally made organic compost that is great for desert plants. Tank’s Green Stuff keeps organic waste out of the landfill by allowing community members to drop off landscape debris to their Tucson facility and creating a certified organic compost with it. Their compost contains no fertilizers or petro-chemical additives and is stringently tested to make sure it is the highest quality available.

How to Participate:
It’s simple!  Go to Dig It Gardens anytime in the month of May and purchase a bag of Tank’s Green Stuff. You might also want to stock up on plants and containers so you can grow great plants with your local compost. Whether you spend $5 or $500, the business owners will appreciate your support. Dig It is located at 3015 N. 16th St, Phoenix 85016 and are open from 9AM - 5PM, seven days a week.

How do the businesses know your supporting this cash mob?
You are welcome to tell the business you are there for the cash mob, but to make it easy you can “check-in” when you visit using Recyclebank’s mobile app.  Sign up for a free account here, download the app and check-in at Dig It Gardens to earn 100 points which you can later redeem at local businesses.  Recyclebank’s website is an amazing tool that answers all your questions about recycling, and rewards you for recycling correctly.

Join us for a Kick off party!
On May 5th, Dig It Gardens will be hosting a planting class led by Ryan Jerrel from 10AM - 11AM. Learn about the importance of soil composition, how to properly prep the soil and the importance of using organic fertilizers vs synthetic. You’ll also learn when to prep your soil and when to fertilize based upon the calendar year in our climate. Register for the class here, and be entered to win a goodie bag including Tank’s compost, a gift card from Dig It, a reusable water bottle and LFA t-shirt.
