Green Cash Mob: Desert Roots Kitchen

desert roots case.jpg

Support local businesses doing their part for the environment! For the month of September, we're encouraging you to patronize Desert Roots Kitchen, a hidden gem in Tempe serving delicious vegan fare with non-GMO and local ingredients. Owner Leslie Robin creates ever-changing menu items such as roasted carrot sunflower teriyaki wraps, ginger beet hummus, chipotle chickpea salad, smoothies and much more.

Deciding to skip meat, whether practiced full time or for a meal or two a week, can significantly lower the impact you have on the planet. Research from the World Resources Institute shows that beef products have some of the biggest impact when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions. Spend some time sampling plant based fare this month, and lower your environmental impact while supporting a local business!

Desert Roots Kitchen is located at 414 S. Mill Ave #111, Tempe. They are open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and also offer catering and to-go orders.
