One of the more pesky items that end up in the waste stream from events are banners. Generally used only once, they commonly end up in the landfill. But thankfully there are options to repurpose banners and this month, we're excited to show you how to do so!
Banners to Bags is a workshop where we will be taking discarded banners from festivals and remaking them into durable bags, perfect for carrying groceries, books, camping gear etc. You will be working on an industrial sewing machines and guided by experts at Tempe's headquarters for fashion manufacturing, FABRIC.
Included in the workshop fee are all materials and you will go home with your own handcrafted bag. You will also have the opportunity to tour FABRIC and learn what is going on at this incredible local hub of Arizona fashion. Space is limited to 15 people.
