About Emily

Good Food Programs Manager
FOR LOCAL FIRST ARIZONA foundation

Born and raised in Arizona, Emily has a passion for local, regenerative food systems. Her experience living and working on an educational organic farm in California inspired her to work toward the same ethos of community-based local food in her home state. Summer is her favorite time of year in Arizona and when she’s not out hiking or biking, she’s usually cooking or watering her plants.

Hometown: Scottsdale, Arizona

What I love about Arizona:
I love the mountains here, there’s nothing like hiking and exploring in the Arizona wilderness. One of my favorite things to do is look up at the mountains surrounding Phoenix as they start to turn pink and purple at sunset.

BA in Urban and Environmental Policy, Occidental College

Favorite book:
Tracks by Robyn Davidson

Favorite local business:

Favorite quote:
“We did not come to remain whole. We came to lose our leaves like the trees…And start again, drawing up on great roots.” – Robert Bly
