That Neighborhood Market - Suzy Q

Do you shop at your local, neighborhood market? If not, consider stopping in sometime soon.  You will be reminded why the corner convenience store is the heart of any community, large or small. Quaint and convenient, just like the name, they often have a more diverse and locally-sourced selection of products, as well as more personable service from the owner or a member of the family. The Suzy Q Market in Cottonwood is just that kind of place.  Since 1973, Suzy Q has been serving the Verde Valley and those passing through with a wide range of snacks, cold drinks, ice cream, lottery tickets and other quick grab-and-go needs.

Owners Support other Independent Businesses

Owners Rob and Linda Harrison go to great lengths to support other independent businesses in the region. This includes homemade tortillas, burritos, and sandwiches from the locally-loved Verde Lea Market and Deli just up the street.

They have also found success in creating one of the largest local wine and beer inventories in Northern Arizona.   With over 500 different brews from around the world, avid beer drinkers are likely to find their favorites amidst a selection of new and seasonal brews. It's a beer lovers paradise and it's worth mentioning the long list of local breweries - many of which are Local First Arizona business members - represented inside the packed coolers: Prescott Brewing Company, Lumberyard Brewing Company, Four Peaks Brewing Company, Santan Brewing Company, Grand Canyon Brewing Company, Nimbus Brewing, Barrio Brewing Company, and of course THAT Brewery from right in Cottonwood.

Local Wine and Spirits

Rob and Linda added a local wine display a few years ago which has been a huge draw for both residents and visitors.  It's quite a collection, including wines from some of our favorite Local First Arizona members like Dos Cabezas, Passion Cellars, Coronado Vineyards, Merkin Vineyards, Arizona Stronghold, Page Spring Cellars, and Four-Eight Wineworks among many others.

In addition to wine, Suzy Q also carries Copper City Bourbon out of Tempe and Thumb Butte Distillery products out of Prescott, Arizona.

People don’t always want to drive out to the wineries for their favorite bottle of local wine and now they know they can get it right here.
