Arizonans have a history of migrating about the state, heading to higher elevation to cool off when it gets warm and heading south when the snow in the northern part of the state gets to be too much. We are fortunate to have an abundance of naturally beautiful and diverse landscapes to choose from.
Flagstaff is bursting with family friendly activities. It is surrounded by hikes for every level of outdoor enthusiast, from simple walks along the Flagstaff Urban Trail System to the infamous trek up Mt. Humphrey's. Not only is downtown Flagstaff surrounded by trails - green spaces abound too. Wheeler Park is right across the street from City Hall. It is a great place for a picnic or to play frisbee. The courthouse lawn on San Francisco St. is beloved as a place to sit in the cool grass and relax.
For kids looking for something exciting and new, the Old Town Shops on Heritage Square offer a variety of fun trinkets, including fidget spinners, which have rocketed in popularity among 5 to 10 year olds. Bright Side Bookshop has puzzles, games, and books for the younger crowd. Arizona Music Pro offers musical instruments and accessories for all ages. Gallyvant is a curiosity shop with trinkets for young and old.
