Candles Crafted with Quality and Care

Since 1971, owners Denise and Kent have been perfecting their candle-making craft. Beginning in a small shop in the then-deserted Old Town Tempe, the duo built a name for their family's business - rooted in quality and craftsmanship. With hand built, custom molds and designs, each Armadilla Wax Works product is unique.

The Armadilla Wax Works Candle Factory is located in Prescott Valley, a hidden gem at the end of the industrial park off Route 69. As soon as you take a step through the red front door, visitors are greeted by a display of jewelry designed by local artists and a cooperative space that welcomes diverse displays. Journey around the corner and the factory opens up to a beautifully designed showroom that overlooks the candle makers at work.

Whether you are shopping for pillar candles, votive candles, floating candles, wax luminaries or just fun decorative candles we design and make them all right here. For home fragrance, banquet candles, wedding candles or simply romantic candlelight we have just what you are looking for.

Denise and Kent have an eye for salvaged materials, which is evident in their showroom. The displays that showcase their beautiful candles are all created from refurbished, recycled, and reworked items.  Metal barrels, wooden pallets, and antique wagons all contribute to the charm of the space.

Sprinkled between candle displays are the works of artists and friends of Denise and Kent. Glass and ceramic art from Mark Hines Design can be found in the showroom along with these intricate lanterns from Cindy Wolf that spill lighted designs across the room.

It is evident that the beauty of Armadialla Wax Works extends beyond their candles and into their community. Denise and Kent continuously promote and support local artists, events, and entrepreneurs, and look for ways of collaborating whenever available. This synergetic philosophy is what strengthens locally owned businesses as well as the communities they stem from.

A trip to the Armadilla Wax Works Factory is more than just a shopping trip - it is also an interactive experience for the whole family.  Create your own masterpiece at the "Dip Your Own Candle" station, or ask for a tour of the factory. The friendly employees are happy to give you a behind the scenes glimpse at the process it takes to create Armadilla candles.
