LFA Members get Wild at the Reid Park Zoo Mixer

We had a great time and beautiful weather for our mixer at the Reid Park Zoo. This article was written by LFA Intern Lauren Kaiser.

This month we had more than just business owners attend our April Mixer, residents of the Reid Park Zoo made a few guest appearances throughout the evening! A big thank you to the Reid Park Zoological Society for hosting our Member Mixer on the enchanting patio of the Conservation Learning Center, for providing us with tasty food & drinks, and for letting guests explore the zoo. With over 80 guests, the mixer was a great opportunity for  business owners to meet one another, and a great opportunity to see the wide variety of businesses throughout Tucson that help contribute to our growing local economy. A big thank you to all who were able to attend the mixer that created such a tremendous turnout!

April has been an incredibly busy month for Local First Arizona with a lot of events and programing geared towards Community Banking Month. Currently, only 4% of Arizona's deposits are in locally owned banks and credit unions, but we want to see that number move to 10%! Join us on Thursday April 21st to learn more about community banking, as we host a screening of The Big Short at The Loft Cinema. Arrive at 6pm to chat with local banks and credit unions and to receive vouchers for free popcorn and drinks while you watch the film! Local First AZ founder, Kimber Lanning, will be there to talk about how we can use our money to support Arizona without Wall Street’s help and to announce the starting of the film at 7pm. Get your tickets to the show here! Email [email protected] to request a Switch Kit for assistance on moving your money from your current bank, to a local bank or community credit union.
