2016 World Bazaar Community Market Sponsorships

2016 World Bazaar flyerWhat: World Bazaar Community MarketWhere: 19th Avenue and Camelback Park & Ride When: May 7, 2016, 10:00AM - 2:00PM

The Need: Hundreds of immigrant and refugee-owned businesses lack community visibility and the chance to enter their products into the open Phoenix market space. Farmer’s markets are boutique in nature and, while growing in popularity, are not inclusive to new, ethnic products. The Camelback corridor at 19th Avenue has long been a hub for ethnically-diverse business ownership. The 2016 World Bazaar intends to be the first community event designed solely to highlight and celebrate the Phoenix metro area’s richly diverse demographic.  Additionally the Solano District Revitalization Plan sponsored by the City of Phoenix calls for an ethnic hub at 19th Avenue and Camelback.

Proposal: The International Rescue Committee, Local First Arizona and the City of Phoenix are holding a World Bazaar marketplace at 19th Avenue and Camelback in Central Phoenix. This will be a bi-annual event highlighting the diversity in Phoenix by inviting local ethnically-diverse vendors to sell at a Saturday market.  It will be a family friendly event focused on community interaction and cultural integration for both business owners and event visitors. Signatures of the event will be multi-cultural vendors, foods from around the world, multi-cultural performances and a New Roots farmers market with refugee farmers.

Expected Outcomes:

  • 30-33 refugee and/or immigrant vendors selling unique products and services
  • 2000-3000 community members in attendance.
  • Revenue to new businesses owned by a majority of low-to-moderate income individuals and families.
  • Focus on light rail driven development and increasing ridership.
  • Highlighting of local community and diversity of the Phoenix metro area.
  • Family-friendly event encouraging public transit, walkability and inclusion of local neighborhoods.

Invitation for Support: Showcase your company’s corporate philanthropy and be assured your dollars will be used to effect change in our community. Some benefits include:

  • The opportunity to highlight your company’s message of corporate social responsibility with an audience of 2000+ at a highly visible event
  • The chance to spotlight your company’s brand through listings in event materials, press releases, and online through website and social media outlets.
  • An occasion to entertain new prospects, existing clients or employees
  • The knowledge that the partner agencies will use your contributions wisely. The IRC has a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator, and an A+ from the American Institute of Philanthropy.
  • The satisfaction that your company will play an integral role in helping our community develop and thrive through the support of micro-business ownership and neighborhood revitalization.

Purpose of Funds:

  • Funds solicited for sponsorship will go directly to fund event operations and any additional proceeds will go back to partner agencies; the International Rescue Committee and Local First Arizona for re-investment in future World Bazaar events
  • All revenue earned by vendors will 100% re-invested by them back into their business or to support family income.
  • Sponsorship Ask:
    • Sponsors are key to the successful implementation of this event and all donors will be recognized at the event and provided the opportunity for self-advertisement
      • Bronze Level: $2500.00
      • Silver Level: $5000.00
      • Gold Level: $10,000.00

The partner agencies graciously thank all potential partners and will accept any and all funds offered to support the World Bazaar market’s general operations outside of the Bronze-Gold levels.
