Great Food and Great People Make for a Great Mixer

Pastiche made for a great setting for our mixer with over 60 guests! We kicked off the new year with a bang at our January Mixer, seeing old faces and many new ones! The energy and excitement in the crowd was contagious and optimistic as members look  forward to the year to come; and we are equally excited about all of the good things to come for our organizations, our members, and our community.

Matt and Chris of Three Wells Distilling Co. pouring samples for members.

Pat Connors at Pastiche was kind enough to host our first Mixer of the year. Pastiche, located near Ft. Lowell and Campbell Ave., has been serving an eclectic menu of American cuisine for years, and we were treated to a great sampling of their menu. Pat and the staff at Pastiche provided a delightful and flavorful variety of appetizers from the kitchen that left everyone with smiles and full stomachs. Pastiche has also recently renovated their bar, becoming a great addition to the restaurant and offering great drinks for patrons. Three Wells Distilling Co. also contributed to the excitement with samplings of their Prickly Pear Spirits (Sonoran Silver and Sonoran Copper) along with their new Agave Spirit.

SAVORIf you want to try some more delicious fare from local restaurants, SAVOR Food and Wine Festival is just around the corner and there's still time to get your tickets! SAVOR is one of Southern Arizona's premier food events, highlighting some of the best local meals, desserts, and spirit's the region has to offer. Not to mention that participants will be wining and dinning in the beautiful Tucson Botanical Gardens. Still not hungry? Check out the menu of this year's event! We'll see you there on Sunday, February 6th.

There are many great ways to get involved with Local First Arizona, beyond being a business member. LFA has a volunteer program called Ambassadors of Local First Arizona, or ALFA. We attend many events throughout the year, and we can always use more help there, or at the office. We have an ALFA training on Wednesday, Feb. 17th at 6pm. Being an ALFA, as a business owner, is a great way to learn more about the organization, and to connect with the community and other business owners. You can sign up for the training HERE.

Thanks to all who came and be sure to join us at our next mixer on Wednesday, February 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Organic Sleep Systems, 5470 E. Speedway Blvd.
