Ever walk into a coffee shop and been greeted by your first name with a drink ready to go? Peixoto (pay-SHOW-tow) Coffee gives you the personal connection you want, combined with the delicious coffee you need. They’re able to provide an authentic crop-to-cup experience because the Peixoto family owns and operates every step of the supply chain from growing the beans on their family farm in Brazil, to roasting them on-site here in Chandler, and serving the final product to local coffee enthusiasts. It is clearly a difference you can taste because they won Phoenix New Times Best Iced Coffee 2015! Julia Peters Peixoto (co-founder) imports the beans from her family farm in Brazil and the head-roaster Jeff Peters (co-founder) roasts the beans in house. Their goal is to channel the Peixoto family legacy into every cup of coffee they serve. The Pexioto family brought their incredible coffee and love for community to Chandler in 2015.
Julia and Peixoto Coffee staff are all about the Buy Local movement and believe in building strong relationships among the small businesses in Arizona. They build connections in a number of different ways, such as holding weekly Sunday Brunch pop-ups from 8am-12pm in their shop at 11 W Boston St #6, Chandler, AZ 85225. Highlighting local food producers and providing them an opportunity to get their name out there is a priority for the Peixotos because they don’t believe small businesses should be competition, but family.
When Julia was asked why Pexioto Coffee promotes local, she had this to say:
“Since we opened our doors nearly 12 months ago, we have always felt strongly about establishing partnerships and sourcing our products as LOCAL as possible, and that principle has guided every decision we've made since. By shopping close to home we help grow the community we are a part of. For instance, when people shop at Peixoto Coffee, they are generating jobs in Chandler, Arizona. Or when we purchase our products from other local businesses -- like Danzeisen milk -- we are helping Danzeisen's community, the Phoenix dairy and food communities, and Arizona business to grow. Our guests’ purchases help bring a business that would otherwise not be there if people were buying from a chain based in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco or any other part of the country.
We've used the same rationale for the pop-ups we host at Peixoto Coffee. We strongly believe in the platform which we've created to propel other small and local businesses. Our way of paying it forward is empowering and enabling other small business (most without a store front) to use the forum and community we've created to promote their businesses. It is a win-win-win scenario.”
Julia and staff are proud to call Arizona home and want to spread that love to everyone they come in contact with. So next time you’re looking for gift ideas or need your caffeine fix, look no further than Peixoto coffee!
