Local Business Owners Invited to 'Leveraging Your Localness'

Local First Arizona Founder and Executive Director Kimber Lanning

Flagstaff business owners and representatives are invited to attend an informative session with Local First Arizona Founder and Executive Director Kimber Lanning on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. titled “Leveraging Your Localness.”

The event will be hosted at the new NACET Business Accelerator building (2225 North Gemini Road, Flagstaff, Arizona 86001) and will go into detail about how locally owned businesses can stay competitive in a changing marketplace.

“Local First Arizona has advanced the ‘Buy Local’ message across Arizona, and there are a wide variety of strategies that local businesses can employ to market themselves to a growing customer base that purposefully seeks out local businesses,” said Kimber Lanning. “We are excited to bring this conversation to Flagstaff and share some key insights.”

Attendees will learn new methods for attracting and retaining customers based on their local ownership. Local First Arizona will explore business collaborations, effective communication tactics, and competitive business strategies to get a leg up on the national competition. “Whether you're big enough to have a sales team or running your business alone, you will learn how to more effectively position your business as an asset to the local economy worthy of support,” said Lanning.

think local buy local be local chalkboardLocal First Arizona travels across the state hosting events like the “Leveraging Your Localness” workshop in order to give local businesses the tools and resources they need to thrive and support Arizona’s overall economy. According to Lanning, studies have shown that up to four times more dollars stay and circulate in the local economy when those dollars are spent with a local business rather than a national chain, which adds up to more jobs, resources, and prosperity for those communities. “When local businesses succeed, they are part of a greater community that shares in those successes,” said Lanning.

Refreshments will be provided by Satchmo's BBQ, who "proudly serves local and pasture raised meat." A great example in leveraging their localness!
