Arizona Continues to Honor Fallen Firefighters

Last year we shared information on how to support a state memorial honoring 119 firefighters and paramedics lost in the line of duty.

The Arizona Fallen Fire Fighters and Emergency Paramedics Memorial honors the firefighters, paramedics, and wildland fire fighters who left behind families and loved ones. It will provide a place to remember their sacrifices and reflect on the loss of each of these 119 Fallen.

Through the power of donation, construction began on the memorial in March 2015 outside the State Capitol building in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix. The memorial will include 10 life-size bronze sculptures of firefighters and paramedics in action and will serve as a reminder to the fallen heroes' sacrifice and valor.

Donations are still be collected to fund the construction of this memorial. Even though groundbreaking has occurred, there is still a lot left to do.

For individuals, it is possible to make a tax-deductible donation online.

Local First Arizona also invites you to stop by any of these generous local businesses that are supporting the memorial and collecting donations in their storefronts:
