Inspired by the hills and climate of Jerome, and born out of the passion and vision of lead singer Maynard Keenan of Tool, Caduceus Cellars offers wine connoisseurs a taste of home grown flavor. As a descendant of Italian winemakers, Keenan has a deep passion for flavorful wine and it certainly shows in his pristine vineyard, Merkin Vineyards, and tasting room Caduceus Cellars. Developed in 2004, Keenan set out to create a wine that reflected his music, which he describes as thick, dense, rich and complex.
" I invest myself fully into every endeavor I undertake. Physically emotionally, and most importantly, spiritually."
Through this investment and passion a set of unique wine was created and has gained renowned praise and success across Arizona. Local favorites include the 2013 ANUBIS, a Cabernet Sauvignon with a dash of Petite Sirah created using a more old world approach to wine making. If you enjoy white wines you have to try the 2013 Chenin Blanc which boasts a one-of-a-kind flavor as it is fermented 1/3 in stainless steel and 2/3 in neutral oak. All of Caduceus Cellars' wines are available online and you can order your own batch here.
Next time you stop by the hilltop town of Jerome step into the truly decadent tasting room of Caduceus Cellars. Located at 158 Main Street and open 365 days a year this tasting room is not only a treat for your taste buds but a treat for your eyes as well.
