National Bank of Arizona Honors Kimber Lanning at 5th Annual Society of Chairs Celebration

Society of Chairs AwardNational Bank of Arizona (NB|AZ), the state's largest full service community bank, its charitable foundation, NBAZ Charities and The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix hosted a celebration of all that is "right with Arizona" at their 5th Annual Society of Chairs awards dinner on Thursday, May 7, 2015. "The Society of Chairs was founded on the simple principle of gratitude for the countless hours of hard work so many passionate people in our community give in service to others," NBAZ Vice Chairman and President of the NBAZ Charities Executive Committee Deborah Bateman said. "We were thrilled and honored to continue that legacy with chairs and co-chairs of this past year's philanthropic season as our guests and celebrate their good work."

This year, Local First Arizona Founder and Director Kimber Lanning was recognized as the award recipient in the Economic Development Category. "I am honored that National Bank of Arizona has recognized the work that Local First Arizona does on a daily basis to improve our state's overall local economy."

Last year, Lanning was awarded the Citizen Leader of the Year title by the International Economic Development Council. "The fact that so many organizations are understanding the impact of our work on building strong local economies goes to show how 'Buy Local' has become a mainstream economic development strategy. Our state and country will be better off for it."

The Society of Chairs event has long been viewed as a capstone to each charity season and as an opportunity to take stock in the impact that the fundraising events have on the entire state each year. "So much of the time, we hear stories about Arizona that just don't match up with our experiences. There are wonderful people here doing great things. This was a night to celebrate what is truly 'right' with this state and the people who are such a positive force in our communities," says Bateman.
