Tucson Earth Day Saturday, April 18th, 9:00 am- 2:00 pm. The City of Tucson is hosting a community celebration of the environment full of environmental exhibits, animal adoptions, and a parade. More info
Give Every Animal a Chance Saturday April 18, 10:00am-7:00pm Buffalo Exchange will have a large selection of items offered for only $1. All proceeds from the sale of one dollar items will benefit The Fund for Animals, an affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States. More info
EarthDay/BatDay 2015 Saturday and Sunday, April 18 & 19, 10:00am-4:00pm Kartchner Caverns State Park will celebrate Earth Day and Bat Day, with the return of the Myotis velifer bat colony. The day will be filled with family activities, presentations in the theater by visiting bat experts and hands-on activities. Some of the activities and presentations will include: the cave simulator squeeze box, a bat display, Game and Fish, Huachuca Area Herpetological Association (live reptiles), soil types, Ranger Dawn Allen, Speleothem display and Ranger Marlo Buchmann. Earth Day at the Wetlands Wednesday, April 22, 8:30am-10:30am The Sedona Parks and Recreation Department is please to offer an outdoor activity on Earth Day for all ages to enjoy. Just a short five mile drive from Sedona are the Sedona Wetlands Preserves. If you have not already visited this park, this event is a good excuse to do so. Planned activities include: two guided hikes lead by Jay's Bird Barn, solar telescope viewing provided by Astronomers of the Verde Valley and guest speakers from the US Forest Service. More info.

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community 11th Annual Earth Day Celebration Saturday, April 18, 8:00am-2:00pm This Earth Day Celebration will have fun activities for the whole family, regardless of age. Enjoy the Environmental Fair filled with learning activities, games, service projects, and family focused activities. There will be a major planting project at the old Beeline Drag Way area to return the land back to nature. A free lunch will be served to all participants. This event will take place at the Two Waters Tribal Government Complex in Scottsdsale. More Info
PLANeT Celebration Saturday April 18, 10:00am-2:00pm The Desert Botanical Garden’s celebration will focus on their unique plant collection. Guests will be able to explore the all of the trails and the Spring Butterfly Exhibit, as well as participate in behind-the-scenes tours, photo ops and learn from plant experts and docents. The Central Arizona Conservation Alliance members will be on site to discuss ecological and recreational sustainability of the Phoenix mountain park reserves. Other Valley conservation organizations will cover sustainability topics through hands-on activities and presentations including: water, recycling, composting, permaculture, wildlife and pollination. The Brian Foley Dynamic Theatre will present a performance of colors and textures of the Sonoran Desert plantscape with flowing fabric, creative choreography, stillness and playful interaction. Musical performers and nature-inspired performances will entertain guests in the new Desert Terrace Garden and the Jan and Tom Lewis Desert Portal. More info

Recycle Arts And Youth Festival with WHAM Art Association, Surprise Saturday, April 18th, 10:00am - 7:00pm The Recycle Arts and Youth Festival will include a teen skateboard painting project and the Eco Chic Fashion Show, a creative display that underscores the importance and possibilities of working with discardable, yet reusable materials. There will be a recycled art exhibit, a green market place featuring the work and wares of local artists and environmentally conscious businesses and several green activities for children. Local food vendors and entertainers will contribute to the day’s festivities. More info.

Party for the Planet, Peoria Saturday April 18, 7:00am - 10:00am In recognition of Earth Day and in partnership with the City of Glendale and Arizona Clean and Beautiful, the City of Peoria is having a Party for the Planet by picking up trash and debris along the New River and Skunk Creek trail systems. Additional activities for the month include bulk trash cleanup, neighborhood pride projects, hazardous waste pickup and environmental workshops. More info
