This year’s Savor Southern Arizona Food and Wine Festival proved to be a delectable success! Whether you were looking for a new local wine or daring enough to try some fried guacamole, Savor had everything you were looking for and more. Showcasing over 75 local restaurants, food purveyors, wineries, breweries and exhibitors and serving over 1,000 attendees, the Savor Food and Wine Festival brought the restaurant community together in the gorgeous setting of Tucson’s Botanical Gardens.  The Savor Food and Wine Festival served up a colorful taste of Tucson with an array of delicious menu samplings, live cooking demonstrations on the Edible Baja Arizona demo stage, and wine and beer tastings from local wineries and breweries.

A few of the tastings from our own Local First restaurant members included: sweet corn and shrimp fritters with red curry aioli from Poppy Kitchen; braised Spanish pork shoulder stuffed peppadew peppers with shaved manchego cheese and romesco aioli from Noble Hops; home-made penne pasta with butternut squash, brussel sprouts, bacon, and feta from Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery; and the cucumber infused tequila soda from Proper. If you weren’t lucky enough to taste these delicious samplings and many more, you can always search the Local First Arizona directory to find these restaurants and make a visit!
