When you're in the mood for Mexican food, look no further than Los Compadres. Known for its authentic Mexican cuisine, Los Compadres has become a Phoenix tradition for visitors and locals alike because of simple, delicious favorites done right. Legend has it Los Compadres stemmed from the incredible talent of Josefina Rodriguez Picazo who began making tamales and burros to support her family in Globe-Miami, Arizona. After the success of her first restaurant, El Rey Cafe, Josefina and her husband took their talent north to open Los Compadres in 1958, leaving El Rey Cafe in family hands.
Now nearly 60 years and two locations later, Los Compadres remains in the Picazo family and you can still find mouthwatering favorites like tamales, burros and fajitas just like Josefina used to make.
Local First Arizona recently kicked off its first mixer of the year with Los Compadres on Northern Avenue in Phoenix. Members came from all around Metro Phoenix, including sustaining members CopperPoint Mutual Insurance and AZTV.
Open to all current Local First Arizona members, our monthly lunch mixers connect local entrepreneurs together from around the valley creating a stronger local business community. We want to thank Los Compadres for hosting a delicious January mixer!
