We're Making the Case for Localism

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 4.27.39 PM We were recently selected by BALLE (Business Alliance of Local Living Economies), for a special case study series they are doing!

Over the past several months BALLE has been collecting stories of great entrepreneurs with place-based supply chains, business models based on collaboration, and a commitment to opportunity and environmental innovation. We have compiled these features as a series of Localist Case Studies that we will be releasing on a monthly basis at bealocalist.org.

BALLE's Case Studies of Successful Localist Businesses series' 4th installment features Local First Arizona based in Phoenix:

Local First Arizona is BALLE's largest network with more than 2,500 members, primarily in the metropolitan areas of Phoenix and Tucson, but also including 60 rural communities across the state.

Local First Arizona models the BALLE principle of “Relationships Matter.” Like other BALLE networks, the nonprofit shows how local businesses working together can be more effective – and competitive – than those working apart.

We're proud to be setting an example for other local business organizations across the nation, and taking the case for Localism to every corner of our state. Click here to read the full report of the work Local First Arizona has been doing over the last 10 years.
