The 4th Somewhat Annual Phoenix Independents Bowl Returns June 22

IndieBowlLogoThe Phoenix Independents Bowl is returning on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Dozens of teams comprised of Phoenix's best independent bands, independent businesses, and independent minded citizens will compete in a bowling tournament for the ages at Let It Roll Bowl, one of the few independently owned bowling alleys in Phoenix. Started in 2008, the first three Phoenix Independents Bowls brought together the Valleys music scene to celebrate independent culture. After a few years hiatus the event is returning for a fourth installment with the same mission of bringing together the local music community. Started by Stephen Chilton, owner of Valley promotion company Psyko Steve Presents, the fourth event was postponed in 2011 while Chilton focused on other projects. “I never thought that we would push back the 4th Indie Bowl more than a few months, but 3 years later I am pleased that it is finally coming back.” said Chilton.

The tournament will feature teams of four comprised of members of local bands, music venues, local businesses and local fans competing for fame and glory. Or at least some sweet trophies. Each team will bowl no less than two games before advancing to a play-off bracket to find a winner.

The proceeds of the event will all go to benefit Local First Arizona and help with their goal to make Arizona a better place by supporting locally owned businesses and building vibrant communities that residents are proud to call home. “We love the vibe at Indie Bowl. Not only is it fun, but it’s a great coming-together of what Arizona should be proud of - our community of talented musicians, unique business owners, and the people that support them,” says Helene Tack of Local First Arizona.
