Local Sustainable Cab Company Partners with Valley Nonprofit

one community clean air cabClean Air Cab, Arizona’s first completely carbon neutral taxicab service, announces their exclusive partnership with ONE Community, an organization who strives to create a coalition of socially responsible businesses and individuals who support diversity, inclusion and equality. Through 2014, locally owned and operated Clean Air Cab is the premier cab company for ONE Community, enhancing the organizations sustainable efforts. “Clean Air Cab and ONE Community are socially responsible businesses who believe that we can do well and do good at the same time,” states Angela Hughey, co-founder and president of ONE Community, “our commitment to community is why we launched the ONE Community Foundation.”

Clean Air Cab is enhancing its charity cab fleet with a new ONE Community Foundation themed Toyota Hybrid Prius. Clean Air Cab has established a program where they will donate one dollar of every fare from this specially wrapped vehicle to the ONE Community Foundation.

The ONE Community Foundation was created to support LGBT inclusive mentorship programs for youth, young adults and professionals. The Foundation will provide grants to LGBT inclusive programs and the mentor-match program will help place interested students and young professionals with a mentor from a variety of industries that represent both small business to large corporations.  Additionally, the ONE Community Foundation will provide educational opportunities to provide better understanding of nondiscrimination and offer tuition assistance to LGBT and allied young adults and professionals for leadership training.

“We are excited to partner with an organization like ONE Community,” said Clean Air Cab Founder Steve Lopez. “We believe in giving back to the community by creating unique partnerships and in this case, supporting the mission of ONE Community and helping shape the future of LGBT and allied leadership.

The ONE Community Foundation cab hit the streets in April and will be on display at ONE Community's First Monday’s. Bravo to this great Local First Arizona member collaboration!
