Local florist, Inglis (rhymes with Pringles) Florists have been helping Tucson residents since 1940. The current owners, Paul and Michael Butterbrodt are second-generation florists who took over for their parents, Don and Rita Butterbrodt. Don and Rita had purchased the original business, Tom Inglis Flowers in 1967, having worked for Tom Inglis since their arrival in Tucson in 1950 and changed the name to Inglis.
“It’s a very family oriented business,” comments staff member Nyla Contreras. “Because of that we treat our customers like family. They know that they can count on us for every occasion, happy or sad; weddings, proms, funerals. We care about helping them get what they need.” Nyla recalls frequently seeing multiple generations come in to their store for flowers. “I’ll have a grandmother call me up to tell me that we did the flowers for her wedding back in 1954 and now she wants to order flowers for her granddaughter’s prom that are just as nice.”
