This Member Spotlight is on Changing Hands Bookstore: From spending most of our college days at its original location on Mill Ave. to now enjoying afternoons with the kids during its monthly kids events and readings, Changing Hands Bookstore has been a constant fixture in our lives. It has served as a cozy backdrop for the treasure hunting we found in its old basement, the poets and authors we met, and the bright eyes and laughter from our children during story time. Audrey Hepburn once said: “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” For many of us, Changing Hands is that “other hand” - as a refuge/second home for the artist and writer, a social gathering point for friends and comrades, and a place where you can find the perfect bedside read.
