In case you haven’t met them yet, please allow me to introduce Tempe-based Arizona Distilling Company (AZDC); producers and purveyors of fine locally crafted liquors. We have had the distinct pleasure of working very closely with the guys over at AZ Distilling Co. over the past year, here's a highlight of what we've been able to accomplish together: Certified Local Fall Festival, November 9, 2013 Our first partnership with AZDC was at the 9th Annual Certified Local Fall Festival, where they sampled out their first market-ready product, named after the old Copper City Brewery: AZDC Copper City Bourbon. The beautiful caramel color and rich oaky flavor of this spirit rivals the best of bourbons, and aficionados know at first taste: it’s a very high quality drink. Save the date for this year's festival: November 8, 2014!
Private Localist Tour and Tasting, January 23, 2014 At the start of the year, AZDC proudly announced that they would open their doors to the public for tours and tastings. To celebrate, AZDC invited 45 LFA Localists to come out for an exclusive, private tour and free tasting of their two market-ready products! A great Q&A session followed a brief tour of the shiny new facilities and all members in attendance had the opportunity to sample some great gin and bourbon. Localists in attendance walked away with a new understanding and appreciation of the distillation process, and many also purchased bottles to take home with them that same night! If you're interested in amazing behind the scenes experiences like this one, become a Localist today.
Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition, February 9, 2014 After the Certified Local Fall Festival, the guys at AZDC couldn’t get enough of Local First and agreed to be the headlining sponsor at our 5th Annual Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition at Crescent Ballroom. For this event, eight valley bartenders stepped up to the challenge of crafting the best cocktail with AZDC products. But this time around, in addition to the bourbon, AZDC debuted its newest product: Desert Dry Gin. Gin- and non-gin-drinkers beware: this spirit will forever raise the bar on your expectations from a bottle of gin! You may be surprised by who was declared the best bartender in town!
Arizona Distilling Co. also made history this month when they released a limited edition first run of their newest product: Desert Durum Wheat Whiskey, Arizona's first grain-to-bottle whiskey ever made. There are only a limited number of bottles available, so be sure to stop by their distillery to get your taste of local Arizona history!
For fantastic spirits, great character and local pride, look no further than Arizona Distilling Company!
