THAT BreweryTHAT Brewery has been serving great food and craft beers for almost 10 years now. When the restaurant opened under the name Rimside Grill, owners Tamara & Steve Morken absolutely refused to put big beer brands on tap, favoring, in stead, top of the line craft brews from mostly local sources. Though the community was initially unfamiliar with craft brews, the Morkens stood by their conviction that big labels like Bud and Coors would never usurp craft brews at THAT Brewery! In the beginning, this meant giving away a lot of free samples, but in no time at all residents in Pine came around to the idea of quality over quantity when it comes to beer.
THAT only began making their own craft brews a few seasons ago in 2012, but they have already seen a huge demand statewide for their diverse menu of small batch brews! Offering everything from their Roadrash IPA to Monsoon Stout and THAT Strawberry Blonde, THAT brew menu also includes local favorites from Four Peaks, Grand Canyon Brewery and Oak Creek Brewing Co.. And don’t forget the food! You can check out THAT menu here. And stay tuned; the restaurant offers rotating specials every weekend!
Boasting a great destination for nature fanatics, antiquers, beer enthusiasts, and foodies, Pine is only 90 miles north of Phoenix, making a visit to THAT Brewery a great staycation or daytrip idea! Although, if you don’t want to make the trip up north, you can always give THAT brew a taste at any of destinations on their ever-growing list of Phoenix hot spots.
Dos Cabezas Wineworks Named after the beautiful twin granite peaks of the Dos Cabezas Mountains, Dos Cabezas Wineworks has been producing high quality vintages since 1995. Owners Todd and Kelly Bostock are in this business to challenge the perception that Arizona does not produce exceptional wines. As a matter of fact, Dos Cabezas wines have been enjoyed at the White house, and received international acclaim.
As one of the fastest growing wine regions in the country, Arizona wineries are quickly gaining popularity largely due to the great quality grapes produced in the state’s mineral-rich, dusty soils. A taste of any Dos Cabezas vintage will show you that this reputation is well-earned! Currently operating out of two separate vineyards, Dos Cabezas starts with exceptional, Arizona-grown grapes and uses almost two decades worth of experience to vint the highest quality of regionally inspired wines.
A stop by the Dos Cabezas tasting room along the Sonoita/Elgin Wine Trail is well worth the trip. The folks at Dos Cabezas are there to help you plan a great staycation, so visit their external links page for ideas, or give them a call for their best recommendations for restaurants or bed & breakfasts!
