19th Annual Tucson Earth Day Festival When: Sunday, April 21, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Where: Reid Park, 900 South Randolph Way, Tucson, AZ (Off of Country Club Road) Cost: Free! The event features environmentally themed exhibits, music, performances, and food vendors. Admission is free, and all exhibits include hands-on environmental activities for young and old alike. The Water Festival will coincide with the Earth Day Festival, which integrates art, science and culture to raise awareness and promote stewardship about our water future.

All proceeds from the sale and class will go towards our future community garden. The Great Cloth Diaper Change When: Saturday, April 20, 11 a.m. Where: South Bridge Old Town Scottsdale & Downtown Chandler (The spacious lawn/green area close to 125 E. Commonwealth) Cost: Free! Environmentally aware parents are invited to recognize Earth Day with local independent retailer, Zoolikins, as they host 2013’s Great Cloth Diaper Change. The event brings awareness to the benefits of cloth diapering by attempting to break the Guinness™ World Record of most cloth diapers changed simultaneously worldwide. APS Shade Tree Workshop When: Saturday, April 20, 8:30 a.m - 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. Where: Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona Cost: Free! But must meet eligibility requirements APS is offering two, one-hour workshops on how to plant and maintain trees to shade homes and help reduce cooling needs. At the conclusion of the workshop, qualified participants will receive up to three trees. Attendance and the trees are free. The workshop is only available to APS, single-family residential customers living in Maricopa County. Pre-registration is required.

Earth Day Fossil Springs Wilderness Monitoring When: Saturday, April 20 Where: Fossil Springs Wilderness Cost: Free! At the bottom of a steep and wide canyon, at the edge of the Colorado Plateau just south of the Mogollon Rim, a group of springs pump water to the surface at the rate of about 20,000 gallons per minute. That endless water supply supports one of the most diverse riparian ecosystems in the state--more than 30 species of trees set among native desert shrub. It also creates a haven for abundant wildlife. 15 volunteers are needed for recreation impact monitoring.
