The December 5th mixer at Crizmac Art & Cultural Marketplace was a big success. More than 40 people came to network and do some holiday shopping. There were many new as well as familiar faces in the crowd. We also tried a new way of introducing attendees. Each person was asked to introduce another person's business, talking about what they like about that business. With such a large group, this exercise took some time but folks were engaged and we all learned so much about who was in the room.
Just like with many other Local First mixers serendipity appeared, this time in the form of a possible TV production. A cartoonist with a vision for a TV show and the community cable station started a conversation. It's always exciting to see what partnership possibilities there are between local businesses, artists and organizations.
Those businesses represented include:

Crizmac also had a Oaxacan woodcarver on hand making intricately carved and painted items. He will be there demonstrating his work through Dec 12. Crizmac also carries a great variety of locally made items from soaps to art and jewelry. A portion of holiday sales will benefit the Community Food Bank. Stop by Crizmac and meet the owner, Stevie Mack. You will be glad you did.
